My name is Stacy Carlson and I’m the person behind Ephedra Herbs. I am a storyteller, craftsperson, home herbalist and educator driven by a lifelong love of wild places – whether in the arctic or in the overgrown corners of the city where I live. I hope Ephedra contributes to a more locally sourced, sustainable and joyful coexistence between people and their natural environments.

Why Ephedra? Ephedra sinica is a fascinating plant that humans have used…well, since before they were humans. There is evidence that Homo neanderthalensis placed ephedra and specific other herbs with their dead before burial. Touched by this ancient practice, and the many other cultures with connections to ephedra, I thought I’d celebrate this herb as a touchstone for timeless plant wisdom.
